Law Offices of Barry Williams II SMS Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: 8/27/2026
The Law Offices of Barry Williams II (“we,” “us,” or “our”) offers text messaging services to our clients and prospective clients for administrative and case management purposes. Please read these terms carefully. By providing your mobile number and opting in to receive text messages from us, you agree to these SMS Terms and Conditions.
1. Description of the Program and Use Case
Text messaging is used strictly for non-marketing, client communication, and administrative updates regarding your legal matters. Messages may include:
Case status updates and administrative alerts
Appointment, consultation, and court date reminders
Requests for documentation, information, or signatures
Invoice notifications and secure billing links via Clio
2. No Attorney-Client Relationship or Service Condition
Not a Condition of Service: Consenting to receive text messages is completely voluntary. Opting in is not a condition of hiring our firm or receiving legal services.
No Relationship Created: Submitting your phone number or opting into text messaging does not create a formal attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is only formed when you sign a written retainer agreement with our firm.
3. Confidentiality and Security Disclaimer
While we take data security seriously, standard text messaging (SMS) is not a fully encrypted or secure method of communication. By opting in, you acknowledge that confidential, sensitive, or privileged information sent via text could potentially be intercepted by third parties. For highly sensitive case details, data, or documents, we advise communicating via phone, secure email, or our secure Clio for Clients portal.
4. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies depending on the active status of your legal case, the complexity of your matter, and your specific interactions with our office staff.
5. Costs and Carrier Charges
We do not charge for our text messaging service. However, message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and wireless plan. You are solely responsible for any charges imposed by your mobile provider.
6. How to Opt-Out (Cancel)
You can cancel the SMS service at any time. To stop receiving text messages from us, reply STOP to any text message you receive from our number. After you send the SMS message "STOP" to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive text messages from us unless you choose to opt back in.
7. How to Get Help or Support
If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program or need assistance, reply HELP to any text message. You can also get help directly by calling our office at (623) 377-7566 or emailing us at [email protected].
8. Carrier Liability
Mobile carriers (including, but not limited to, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
9. Privacy and Data Sharing Restriction
Your privacy is paramount to us. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates.
For a full understanding of how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, please review our complete Privacy Policy.
